Lady Foot Locker Is Fashioned for a Cause

Wed, Oct 7, 2009

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lady Foot Locker reaches out to women of all ages with a collection of fashionable "pink" products. Touting messages of hope and inspiration, the line supports the efforts of the American Cancer Society (ACS).
"Breast Cancer touches us all. Whether young or old, many of us have witnessed or experienced the effects of this terrible disease," said Doug Smith, Brand Director for Lady Foot Locker. "Recognizing that no one is immune to this reality, we offer an exciting assortment that resonates with woman of all ages."
A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of each of the limited-edition Lady Foot Locker products goes directly to ACS. Long-sleeved thermals that literally convey a message of "HOPE," with original graphics and artwork, will be sold for $18 each, with $5 from this purchase supporting the efforts of ACS. The same "HOPE" graphic can be seen on the recycled tote, which will sell for $3. A pink string bracelet tops off the assortment at $2.50. Lady Foot Locker also offers a specially designed "pink" inspired gift card in which 10% of the purchase value goes towards the Society, in addition to a dedication card that has a cell phone decal and guidelines for early detection on the back.
"Make a difference and look good while doing it," says fashion blogger Tricia Lewis of 34th Street Fashion Herald, "that's money well spent. Layer a pretty graphic, long-sleeved thermal for fall or wear it with your denim, and the best part is, you're helping an important cause."
Lady Foot Locker's deep commitment to the cause does not stop here. In addition to its product assortment in store, Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. is a six-year flagship sponsor of the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. Since first partnering with ACS in 2002, the company has increased the participation level of walkers as well as the amount of monies raised more than ten times over.
