Do The Clothes Make The Brand?
In an effort to reintroduce himself as the rehabilitated, well-mannered gentleman, Kanye West adopted a new style to fit his profile. The hip hop giant, apparently traded in his colorful wardrobe for a more mature look. West has been spotted repeatedly, on the scene, wearing sharp designer suits tailored to perfection.
WWD reports that Kanye West and his entourage has worn a uniform of Dior Homme black suits for the past week, and is expected to continue this wardrobe trend throughout West’s upcoming tour.
Like Kanye West, small business owners can improve their own personal brands by adding well-tailored designer suits to their repertoire. Every entrepreneur should have at least one incredible suit in his or her closet to put on when it’s time to seal that business deal, and to make a lasting impression on everyone around.
An incredible suit impacts the way people interact with you. Just put on your designer suit and you’ll find that people are more willing to engage in conversation, more interested in what you have to say, and generally more courteous and accommodating overall.
As entrepreneurs you have to constantly win people over, in order to pitch your ideas and sell your products. So, suit up your personal brand to warm up the crowd, and get the positive attention you need to be successful.
While Kanye West hopes his designer suits will show the world he’s a changed man, you, too, can use your suited style to show that you mean business. In our society, it’s not even worth debating… the clothes most certainly make the brand.
