I’m VERY surprised not to see Daymond John (@thesharkdaymond) on your list. As a self made multi millionaire and fashion mogul, I’m always amazed at the access and advice he gives on his website, facebook, and Twitter. No disrespect to the others on your list, but I really think it needs some rethinking.

    Pam

Hi, Denise. Thanks for your comment. While we applaud the public figures and celebrities who share their business wisdom, they were not the focus of this list. We did, however, spotlight the contributions of these notable folks on our 10 Must Reads for Urban Entrepreneurs list.

There are tons of other great entrepreneurs who deserve to be acknowledged, so we will continue to expand this list and make new ones down the road. If you have any other names to shout out, feel free to add them below so we can continue to spread the word.

Congratulations to those who made the list. I do, in fact, recognize a few of the names. I’d love to know your definition of “urban” as it relates to this list. Do you mean black folks who only cater to black folks or those who have a BROAD base? One woman who was left off is Regina Baker and she should be one of the tops on everybody’s list. I’m not a slouch either but I guess it’s all in how you define “urban.” I always thought it was about substance and not flash and dash.

      Beverly,

Thanks for commenting. We spent a very long time compiling our list and because we kept the number to a lean 25, some hard decisions had to be made. That said, it’s our mission to spotlight urban entrepreneurs from across the globe, so keep shining! Congrats to the 25!

      Be great,
      David
